Scout Troop 102 was re-chartered Thursday by the Marion Christian Church with Leroy Riggs, troop committee chairman, conducting the meeting. The following adults are registered on the new charter: Leroy Riggs, D.W. Wheeler, Harry Koslowsky, Jim Richmond, Dale Snelling, Larry Kerns, Mike Bredemeier, and Reuben Zerger. Sixteen boys were registered in the troop.

Mrs. Willard (Earlene) Hague, Marion, was elected and installed as a "member at large" and member of the executive board of the Kansas Association of Educational Secretaries (KAES) at the state meeting of that organization in Topeka last week.

At a recent annual dinner meeting of the Tri-County Community Mental Health Services Board, Msgr. Arthur Tonne, Pilsen, was presented the Marion County Mental Health award for outstanding service in the field of mental health.

Seven Marion High School vocal music students were selected to sing in the All-State Chorus this year, according the Ken Forsyth. The event was held at Wichita on Saturday. Students participating were Bev Bowers, Deb Link, Karen Pankratz, Becky Wood, Richard Britain, Ed Hett and Dennis Schafers.

Kaye Marlene Applegate and James L. Darrow were united in marriage at seven o'clock Saturday evening, March 10. The double ring rites were performed in Valley United Methodist Church by Rev. John Daly.

Centre High School will present a spring musical, "Rough and Ready," on April 13 and 14. Jacintha Konecny and Kent Brown have the lead roles. Supporting actors are Craig Albrecht, Candice Peterson and Dave Nelson.

Willard Peterson, Florence, was honored recently by the Newton Chamber of Commerce as one of five area farm owners living on land owned by the same family for at least a century.
