Mrs. Sid Moore, Marion County fund drive chairman for the Arthritis Foundation, recently was presented an award by noted film star Jane Wyman in Wichita. Marion County was rated ninth in Kansas. Miss Wyman, national campaign chairman, was speaker at the awards banquet at Wichita State University.

Richard Britain, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Britain, Marion, has been awarded a scholarship by Washburn University, Topeka. He plans to prepare for a career in law.

Max Merrill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gail Merrill, Marion, a professional geophysicist for Exxon Company, has accepted a two year overseas assignment with Esso Europe, Inc.'s "Exploration Studies Group." On April 1 he moved from the Southwestern Exploration Division office at Midland, Texas, to Walton-on-Thames, a suburb of London, England. His family will join him in England soon.

Two students from Marion have been notified they have been accepted as students at Friends University, Wichita, for the coming fall quarter. They are Ed Hett, son of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Hett, and Dennis Schafers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Schafers.

The Marion High School's musical production of "Hello Dolly" will be presented here this weekend. The speaking cast includes Debbie Link, Daryl Enos, Eddie Hett, Jeanna Fulton, Karen Pankratz, Barry Seifert, Bob Fetrow, Danny Heim, Don Bredemeier, Teresa Case, H. Crainer, Willabeth Meier, Beverly Bowers, Dennis Schafers, Andy Ferrell, Jeff Longhofer, Jim Crofoot and Roger Williams. Many other students are involved in the chorus, orchestra and technical work.

Jan Luise Atkinson and Frank Joseph Moffitt, both of Salinas, Calif., were united in marriage March 17. Father Eleutherio Sanz performed the nuptial rites in Madonna del Sasso Catholic Church, Salinas. The groom is the son of Mrs. James Moffitt, Tampa, and the late Dr. Moffitt.
