Robert R. Brooks and Edward W. Colburn have been advanced to top executive positions of the Farmers and Drovers National Bank. Colburn was named president and Brooks will be the executive vice president. L.L. Hadsell, who has been president of the bank since 1948, will continue as director and chairman of the board.

Donahue Manufacturing Company will host a public open house Sunday in their newly-completed 40,000 square foot office and manufacturing facilities at the northeast edge of Durham.

Capacity crowds of curious spectators continue jamming Marion County's courtroom to hear details of the Lewerenz murder trial, currently underway.

Marion's first baby this year was a bit tardy, but arrived Sunday just in time to make grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Holmes, double winners so to speak. Mr. and Mrs. Joe (Lisa Holmes) Navrat, Newton, are the parents of Jason Daniel. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Navrat, rural Marion, are the paternal grandparents. The coincidence is that Jason's cousin, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice (Tina Holmes) Williams, was also the first baby winner this year at McNary, Ariz.

Jack W. Richmond, Marion, has been promoted from tooling crew chief to second shift foreman at Hesston Corporation. He now supervises all employees in the tooling area on second shift. Richmond joined Hesston in 1969. He is a graduate of Marion High School. He and his wife have four children.

Kevin Burkholder, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Burkholder, celebrated his fifth birthday Jan. 11 with a party. Refreshments of birthday cake, ice cream and Kool-Aid were served to Brett Baumgardner, Craig Mueller, Shawn Krause, Doug Bernhardt, Michael Wheeler, Brent Hayen, Carl Abbott and Jeffrey Burkholder.

Carol Waner and Catherine Hein hosted a miscellaneous shower Jan. 8 at the Vernon Waner home honoring Kathy Smolik, whose marriage to Paul Swan will occur Jan. 20.
