Representatives of all governmental units in Marion County have been invited to attend a meeting tonight (Thursday) to study the feasibility of a countywide airport.

The "Queen of Courts" will be crowned at halftime during the Marion-Council Grove basketball game this Friday evening. The three candidates are Sharon Kroupa, Pam Harp, and Kathy Regnier. The winner will be crowned by last year's queen, Pam Griffith.

Mrs. Karen Suffield, Lincolnville, has completed a course in cosmetology at the Academy of Hair Design, Inc., Salina. Mrs. Suffield will be employed at Vicki's Beauty Salon in Lost Springs.

Ginger K. Foster, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marion O. Foster of Wichita, and Kent D. Becker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dorman Becker of Durham, were united in marriage Jan. 29 in the First Congregational Church, Emporia.

Members of the BYF of Emmanuel Baptist Church invited friends to an ice skating party at the John Hett pond Saturday evening After skating, the group went to the Clayton Hamm home for chili. Present were Dennis Hamm, Bob Robinson, Eddie, Eldon, and David Hett, Ricky Just, Joanne Popp, Terry Weigart, Kenny Bliss, Kim Duke, and Anne Higgins.

Nodie Baker was guest of honor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Baker Sunday evening in observance of his 98th birthday. Mrs. Baker was an additional guest.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wegerer are pictured as they watched at 8 a.m. Tuesday while their son, Louis, signed a letter of intent to accept a full four year scholarship at Kansas State University as a football player. An all-state standout, Louis was actively recruited by several colleges and universities throughout the central states.

Explorer Scouts from Post 102 gave an interesting report at Marion Kiwanis Monday noon, telling of their trip to Canada when they traveled 150 miles by canoe from Ely, Minnesota. Rev. John Daly introduced Eugene Enos, post adviser, who in turn introduced Daryl Enos and Doug Marler. The two boys reported on the trip and answered many questions.
