Columbus at Tampa celebrated their silver anniversary February 15 with a banquet to mark the 25th anniversary as a council. Thomas E. Duggan was toastmaster of the event.

Cathy Coe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Coe and a senior at Marion High School, was crowned Queen of Courts Friday night during homecoming half-time ceremonies at the Council Grove basketball game. Mike Regnier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Regnier and Cathy's escort, had the honor and pleasure of crowning her. Attendants were Vicki Boese, escorted by Stanley Hett, and Shirley Helmer, escorted by Jack Goentzel.

Two Marion High School piano students participated in the state piano music festival at Emporia Saturday and received high ratings. Sharon Kroupa, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Kroupa, received a II rating and Marilee McGinness, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed McGinness, received the coveted I rating.

Rose Goentzel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Goentzel, Marion, received a 500 hour pin last week in a ceremony at St. Luke Hospital recognizing the volunteer efforts of the Candy Stripers.

Barbara Costello, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Costello, celebrated her 10th birthday Feb. 11 by inviting a number of friends to a party at her home. Those present were Susie Higgins, Sherry Classen, Dana Henry, Lori Harris, Paula Vinduska, Adah McGranor, Renea Bingaman, Ginette Mellott, Molly Ferrell, Cindy Moody, and Monica Shields.
