Sausage and pancakes were served to 275 people Thursday night when District Four of the Kansas Swine Improvement Association met in the Marion Municipal. John Just and Don Spangler were the flapjacks flippers for the group.

Members of the Marion Country Club voted Saturday night at the annual meeting to purchase the property from Mr. and Mrs. Clive H. Jarvis. The membership voted to let the board of directors come up with a plan for purchase of the club and to report in the "not too distant future" to the membership.

Mrs. Eugene Eilerts, Marion, began working Monday morning in a clerical position in the office of the Marion County Clerk.

Tony Wayne Winter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Winter, celebrated his fourth birthday Monday morning when his mother invited several of his friends to a party. Kool-Aid, cupcakes and favors were served to Chris and Cecil Meierhoff, David and Michael Tripp, Valerie, Brenda, and Cerece Smith, their mothers, and Tony's sister, Wendy.

The Moffitt-Crandall Auxiliary of the American Legion at Tampa will sponsor Carla Fike, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Fike of Ramona, to Sunflower Girls State to be held at Lawrence from June 7 through 14.

The Marion High School girls' physical education classes hosted Council Grove Monday in a badminton tournament in Marion Gymnasium. Linda Bernhardt of Marion took fourth place. Other members of the Marion team included Donna Ewert, Sandy Turner, Teresa Case, Becky Wood, Paula Edmunds, Karen Pankratz, Lisa Holmes, and Jeannie Widler.
