Both the Case and Son Insurance Agency and the Hannaford Abstract Company have moved into their recently completed new office buildings in the 200 block of Main Street in Marion. No official "open house" has been held by either business at this time.

Joe Gamache and his combo will be featured at a Halloween dance to be sponsored Oct. 30 by James William Miesse Post 22 of the American Legion.

The Ryan Memorial Library was dedicated at Sacred Heart College in Wichita Wednesday with James Ryan of Florence as the honored guest. Total cost of the modern new library is $600,000 of which $100,000 was donated by the Ryan family.

Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Brunner of Herington announce the birth of their second daughter, Amy Meredith, October 16 at St. Luke Hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Hamm, Shirley and Dennis spent the weekend in Kansas City. The Hamms were winners in the recent "Vagabond Weekend" sponsored by local merchants and spent it in Kansas City.

Two students from Marion County will appear with the University of Kansas Chamber Choir Sunday at Swarthout Recital Hall. Kathleen Westerhaus, Marion, and Stan Penner, Hillsboro, will sing in the soprano and tenor sections.

Specialist Fourth Class Charles E. Bezdek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Bezdek of Tampa, has received the U.S. Army Letter of Commendation for outstanding service and loyal support during his tour of duty in Vietnam with the Engineer Platoon, 136th Heavy Equipment Maintenance Company.
