Pictured on the front page are recording star Rosemary Clooney and Mrs. Ole R. Jones. Clooney had presented the "Golden Victory Trophy" to Jones after her selection as "mother of the year" by the Merchants Association of Westland Mall in Las Vegas. Born and raised in Lost Springs, Jones has lived in Las Vegas since 1965. She is the daughter of Mrs. Fern Bernhardt of Marion.

Edward W. Colburn, Marion banker, was elected president of the Marion Country Club at an organizational meeting of the board of directors Friday evening. Boyce Baumgardner, Marion banker, was elected vice president and Ray Vinduska, Marion postmaster, was elected secretary-treasurer.

Dave Greenemeyer, well known Marion baker, died unexpectedly at his home Monday evening.

Shelley Batt and Debi Case left by bus Tuesday for Topeka where they acted as pages Wednesday in the House of Representatives for Lawrence Slocombe. The girls' parents are Mr. and Mrs. Dean Batt and Mr. and Mrs. Alex Case Jr.

Mrs. Dean Williams and pupils presented a piano recital at the Aulne church Sunday afternoon. Pupils taking part were Donna and Denise Funk, Sherri Kelly, Kimberly Hett, Jeanna Fulton, Gerry Ehrlich, and Kay Ann Williams.

Newly elected members of the Marion County Community Mental Health Services board pictured with retiring Monsignor Arthur Tonne are Robert Brown of Lincolnville and Mrs. Ed (Betty) Grimwood of Burns.

Mrs. Richard Schwartz returned this week from a 10-week trip to the Far East where she met her husband, Major Richard Schwartz who is overseas with the U.S. Marines.
