Marion County Sheriff J.E. O'Hair this week submitted his letter of resignation to Governor Robert Docking, to become affective August 5. He has accepted a position as a special agent with the Santa Fe Railroad in Wichita, effective August 7.

The Marion City Commission in regular session Monday voted to instruct local police officers to enforce the curfew law. The local curfew law stipulates that all persons under the age of 19 must be off the streets by 11 p.m. unless accompanied by their parent or legal adult guardian or have written permission from their parents or guardian to be out after 11 p.m. on that particular night in question.

Debbi Case, Susie Wood, Rae Jean Woerz, Ginger Helmer and Sandy Anderson attended cheer leading camp at Rock Springs from Saturday until Wednesday. Mrs. Harold Woerz took the girls to camp and Mrs. Alex Case brought them home.

Miss Beverly J. Elling and Donald W. Hague were united in marriage August 2. The double ring rites were performed in Valley United Methodist Church by the Rev. Wm. J. Staub and the Rev. Roger Harmon.

Mrs. Harry Laubhan hosted a party for Laurie's 9th birthday Sunday afternoon. After playing games, Mrs. Laubhan served birthday cake, ice cream bars and Kool-Aid to the following: Laurie Laubhan, Georgia Kline, Becky Houdyshell, Jandee Smith, and Kristine, Kerry and Michael Kelsey. Shelia Meisinger was unable to be present. Mrs. Gerald Kelsey and Vickie Youk helped Mrs. Laubhan with the party.
