Hilltop Manor was dedicated at 5 p.m. Sunday afternoon and after the ceremony, opened doors to a crowd of 500 who had come to see Marion's recently completed 28-unit low-rent housing development. Following a tour of the facility, visitors were treated to refreshments by wives of the present housing authority. Hostesses were Mrs. John Loomis, Mrs. J. Kenneth Muse, Mrs. Ira Newcomer, Mrs. Robert J. Hoover, and Mrs. Robert P. Brooker.

Conrad Steely, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Steely of Burdick, recently accepted a position as office manager of the New York Exchange of Columbia Pictures. Prior to this assignment he had been traveling to the various branch offices of Columbia Pictures in major cities of the United States working in office procedures.

An open house is planned in celebration of the 25th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Joyce Carlson. Friends and relatives are invited to call between the hours of 2:30 and 5 p.m. Sunday, August 15, at the Carlson home east of Lincolnville.

Alfred Sondergard, owner of Sondergard Garage in Ramona, received a Gates Rubber Company "Mystery Car" award July 27. "Mystery Cars" all have worn fan belts. Award plaques are presented when service station personnel notice the defective belt and offer to replace it. The award is a plaque bearing two rare silver dollars, two half dollars and a specially-minted coin set in an automotive engine design.

Roy Pagenkopf of Boise, Idaho, has been named division vice president of the Mobile Home and Modular Housing Group of Guerdon Industries. Pagenkopf is well known in the area, having formerly lived in Lincolnville. His wife, JoAnn, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kelsey of Marion.

Robert Hoffman, Doug Marler, Joe Endres, and Paul Kraus, four of six Marion FFA chapter officers attending State Leadership Camp July 28-31 won several awards while at camp. Robert placed second in trapshooting; Doug was runner-up in freestyle swimming; Joe was on the camp master ritual team; and Paul finished eighth in spelling.
