That first "Skippy" trailer made at Marion last spring will be joined soon by a big brother, Red Bud. The plant opened 1970 but it took the better part of three months in preparation for manufacture. Most of the trailers made by Marion Manufacturing Company have gone to rental firms.

Everett Burkhead has been busy this past week getting reacquainted with Marion through his new set of "eyes" — the big black Belgian Shepherd Leader dog which is now Everett's constant companion.

Sheriff Charles Frans has stated that evidently an arsonist had a field day Tuesday afternoon along U.S.-77, as a reported 24 grass fires were set between Florence and Burns. A good many acres of prime Bluestem pasture land were destroyed by the blazes.

Herb Bartel, formerly of Marion, has been named Director of Planning at Aspen, Colorado. He was formerly planning director for Araphoe County at Littleton. Bartel is a graduate of Marion High School and a brother of Mrs. Harold Wiens.

John L. Brose was the winner of the annual Marion Country Club Labor Day golf classic over the holiday weekend, and with it the title of "club champion" for it was the championship tournament of the season. Jack Webb captured second place.

Mrs. Max Merrill (the former Patsy Harris) has brought a group of pictures to the Farmers and Drovers National Bank for its September art showing. The exhibit features 15 rustic shingles boldly painted with a sheaf of daisies, a clump of mushrooms, cluster of grapes, vegetables or flowers.
