A report on one-teacher schools over the county shows that only seven operating schools are yet without teachers for the fall.

The mail messenger job at the Marion post office, that has been handled for the past 12 years by Silas Weidenbener, has been awarded to Art Klein on the low bid of $1200, acting postmaster Nettie Williams announces.

Mr. and Mrs. P.F. Noone, Tampa, announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary, to Merrill Christiansen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Christiansen of Durham.

Connie Sue Long was honored at a birthday party Wednesday to celebrate her 10th birthday. The guest list included Karen Becker, Karen and Molly Brodhead, Billie Herbert, Patricia Dixon, Vicki Black, Kay Navrat, Judy Coons, Nancy Keazer, Carmen Siebert, Jeanette Russell, Lenore Wheeler, Alda Ratts and Sandy Kay Long.

Recent new car deliveries by the Paul Seifert Motor Company include a Buick Roadmaster dynaflow sedan to Marshal Lyons; a Chevrolet Fleetline aero sedan to J.C. Scheurer; a Chevrolet Fleetline 4-door sedan to Clarence Peters; a Chevrolet Fleetmaster 5-passenger coupe to Kenneth Nelson; a Buick Super sedate to Lt. Max Miesse; and a 1 1/2 -ton truck to Dannie Zellers.

Membership in the Marion Country Club are still available, according to president Paul Seifert. Dues are $10 per year and give full privileges to the club facilities. The club grounds are open only to members and their families. Membership applications may be handed in to C.F. Pantle, secretary-treasurer.

The weather forecast for this weekend is for partly cloudy and continued rather warm. Cooler Thursday night and Friday with possible thundershowers. High Thursday, 92, low, 68; high Friday 87, low 60.
