An announcement of special interest to livestock producers in this area was made Wednesday, revealing a new partnership arrangement between the Marion and Herington livestock sales companies. Ownership and management of the new combined operation is held by Wm. Schnell, H. Irvin Christiansen, C.C. Wendt, Merrill Christiansen, and Ted Haefner.

Miss Frances Mastek, daughter of Vincent J. Mastek, was crowned "Queen of May" at Marymount College, Salina, May 9 at the annual May festivity. Her father and sisters were present for the ceremony.

Harry Weibert is reported to be resting comfortably in St. Luke Hospital after his fall nearly a month ago from an oil rig near Lehigh. He was moved from a Wichita hospital back to Marion three weeks ago and is enjoying visits from many friends.

Marilyn Reh will leave Monday for Prescott, Arizona, where she will spend the summer. It is hoped the higher altitude may be beneficial for asthma from which she suffers.

Donald Srajer was given scholastic recognition at the St. Joseph's Military Academy commencement exercises. He received the scholarship medal for having the highest yearly grade average in the freshman class. His average was 96.3%.

Misses Wilma Geis, Florence Hefley, Carole Schlehuber, Donna Rose Pankratz and Theodora Longhofer had dinner at Kingfisher's Inn Friday, honoring the birthday of Donna Rose Pankratz. Later the girls went to the Longhofer home to watch television.

Miss Rose Marie Vlk, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Vlk, and Harold Vinduska, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Vinduska, Pilsen, were married Tuesday morning, May 25, at St. Mark Catholic Church.

Max Merrill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gail Merrill, Marion, will graduate from the University of Kansas June 7 with a bachelor of science degree in geology. Max also recently received his commission as a second lieutenant in the Air Corps.
