A chilly drizzle Sunday which turned at times to heavier downpour, boosted the month's moisture from 1.28 to 2.14 inches.

Congratulations to the following parents with babies born this week: Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Regier of Concordia, whose son James Vernon was born Nov. 14; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Weber, whose daughter Margery was born Nov. 12; and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Nightengale, whose daughter Cathy Lee was born Nov. 14. The Regier baby was born at the Concordia hospital and the other two were born at St. Luke Hospital.

Again this year the annual Thanksgiving Festival will be held at Pilsen with St. John church inviting the public to attend. Dinner will be served from 5:30 to 8 p.m. with a menu of poultry and ham. Adult tickets are $1 and 50 cents for children. Many games and attractions are scheduled for young and old alike, with prospects pointing to another outstanding festival.

Mrs. Velma Broz, teacher of the Finch School, invited mothers of the pupils for the afternoon of Nov. 15 for Education Week observance. Mothers who attended were Mrs. Charles Winkley Jr., Mrs. Harry Funk, Mrs. Adolph Schmidt, Mrs. Ed Hein Jr., Mrs. Johnny Eitzen, Mrs. Lawrence Winkley, and Mrs. Ralph Funk.

Mary Williams and Neil Hoopes have the leading parts in the senior class play, "Paint the Town Pink" which will be presented Friday evening at the city building. The cast includes Junior Post, Sandra Higgins, Darlene Oblander, Marilyn Dixon, Rosalie Tajchman, Sandra Hammer, Ruth Ann Melcher, Tom Shirley, Jim Christensen, Laurence Priddle, Molly Brodhead, Caroline Susdorf, John Bateman, Gaila Jost, Junior Bledsoe, Gene Hasenfratz, Wayne Thies, Joyce Klein, Paul Ford, Richard Vogel, Paul Schmersey, and Larry Dieter.

The rock surfacing on the Antelope-Elk road was completed this week, according to the county engineer's office. Weather permitting, they will start at once on surfacing the newly graded north Florence road, another of the approved secondary road projects in the county.
