Robert J. Silhan and Arnold L. Holt announce this week that they will open the former Bratton service station on West Santa Fe Street this Saturday. It will operate under the name of Bob and Arnie's Service.

Ralph R. Melton, M.D., took over duties as chief of staff of St. Luke Hospital as of Jan. 1 and will serve in that capacity for the year. Melton was elected at the regular staff meeting in December and will replace G.J. Goodsheller, M.D., who has served since the opening of the hospital.

Invitations are out for a miscellaneous shower to be given Friday evening by Mrs. Henry Klose, Mrs. Henry Klein, and Mrs. Fred Domke complimenting Miss Nova Bredemeier, who will be married soon to Mr. Merle Bruner. Miss Bredemeier also was honored by a shower given by Patty Ann Hart, Nila Hoopes, and Etta Mae Rempel, friends in the senior class of 1954.

Mr. and Mrs. B.C. Swain left Thursday for the south. After a brief visit with their son, Jack Swain, wife, and baby at Houston, Texas, they will go to Brownsville for a month's stay.

Adults interested in repairing furniture, upholstery, or other phases of industrial arts are welcome to join the adult class in industrial arts held Thursday evenings with Floyd Yaussi as instructor. The 18 enrolled include Mr. and Mrs. Jack Vogt, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Larsen, Mrs. Lillian Pierce, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Brodhead, Mrs. Wilmer Siebert, Mr. and Mrs. John Waner, Max Dunn, Mrs. Ben Ehrlich, Mrs. Fred Domke, Miss Joan Kirk, Mrs. Boyd Higgins, Jack Adams, and Mr. and Mrs. Roland Stenzel.
