Jerry Mullikin, who has been superintendent of the Marion County Park and Lake since its opening in the 30s, this week resigned that position effective as of January 23. Mr. Mullikin has been ill, hospitalized part of the time the past few months, and is at present confined to his home. Resignation was because of ill health. The county commissioners named Mrs. Mullikin acting superintendent until such time as the park board may make a selection for new superintendent.

Jean Pierre Agatensi, 20, a native of Brest, France, is visiting relatives, the Masteks, in Marion County. He just recently arrived in the United States on the Queen Mary.

A 52-pound beaver is quite a catch for this part of the country. Wencel Vlk trapped the large beaver on the Cottonwood, south of Marion.

The Evangelical United Brethren Church was the scene Sunday afternoon of the wedding of Miss Clarice Lucille Collett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Collett, and William A. Hammer, son of Mr. and Mrs. William R. Hammer.

The CYF of the Christian church took advantage of the snow and made hurried plans for a sleighing party Sunday evening, January 22. The youths and sponsors, totaling 35, went to the Fred Klein home west of town, where a tractor and bobsled with a hitch for small sled was in readiness. After thrills and spills galore, all went inside where games and welcome food awaited them.

Harold Bowers, who has been road maintenance patrolman in the Grant Township area on the highway staff, has resigned his position. He has accepted a position with a construction company.
