Marion High School basketball boys have selected four candidates for the title of "Queen of Court." They are Margie Bernhardt, Mary Lou Conyers, Kay Navrat and Nancy Keazer. The queen will be officially present at the final home basket ball game Feb. 17 when the Warriors meet Hope.

Boy Scouting in the United States is celebrating its 46th anniversary this week, and in reality during 45 of these years, scouting has been active in Marion. Technically, however, the local group was not officially registered with the Boy Scouts of America until February 1918. Ten Marion boys met on June 14, 1911, and organized a scout troop. The ten were Frank Brown, Alex Case, Melvin Hereford, Howard Keller, Dwight Lilley, Earl Loveless, Paul Loveless, Maurice Miesse, Lawrence Remmers and Harold Woolheater.

Little Michael Edmunds, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Edmunds, celebrated his second birthday Sunday at a family dinner at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Edmunds.

Mrs. Clair Garrison left from Emporia Wednesday evening for New York and from there will go by army transport to join her husband, Lt. Garrison, who has been in service in Germany since October.

Rev. Alfred Rehder, who comes to Lincolnville, from Knierim, Iowa, will be installed Sunday as the new minister of St. John's Lutheran Church, Lincolnville. The service will begin at 7:30 in the evening. Rev. and Mrs. Rehder have two sons, Bert 15, a freshman in high school, and Grant, in the sixth grade.
