Two or more car thieves left a trail of stolen vehicles across Marion County and into Harvey County last weekend, creating a good deal of excitement and providing officers with a lot of activity.

Syd Fogel of Los Angeles who is visiting relatives in Marion, was the speaker on the Marion Kiwanis Club program Monday. He spoke interestingly of motion picture production and especially the current "Wyatt Earp" series on television that he directed.

Mrs. R.K. Maybell of Marion has been named welfare director for Marion County effective March 1. She succeeds Dale Jirak who has resigned to take an advanced position with the state department.

Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Broadstreet were hosts at a Valentine party at their home Monday evening for members of the Home Builders Sunday school class of the Emmanuel Baptist Church. Highlight of the evening was the presentation of an engagement ring to Miss Donna Rose Pankratz by Mr. Velber Bevan.

Before an altar in Our Savior Lutheran Church, Miss Nova Bredemeier, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Bredemeier, and Mr. Merle Bruner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Bruner, exchanged wedding vows at three o'clock Sunday afternoon.
