The public is invited to the grand opening to be held Saturday at Conyers Flowers, Marion's newest greenhouse. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Conyers are the florists. They will carry a full line of nursery stock, bedding plants, potted plants, and cut flowers.

Marion High School's dramatic department's entry at the district one-act play contest at Clay Center Monday came away with highest honors, a 1+. The play "C'est la Guerre, had a three-man cast of

John Williams, Robert Mehlinger and Laurence Griggs.

Mrs. Joe Atherton entertained a group of girls Saturday afternoon in honor of her daughter Jo Ellen's tenth birthday. Refreshments of birthday cake, ice cream and drink were served to Betty Jean Tipton, Jean Morse, Deloris David, Edith Ann Jewett, Mary Melton, Loretta Fullmer, Donna Newsom, Anita Schlehuber, Ruth Lais, and Dianne Davis of Wichita.

Mrs. Joe Svitak of the Pilsen community was the lucky winner Sunday of $25 when her name was called at the Starland Theatre in Tampa. Sunday night was the last show as Frank Havlik, owner of the theatre, is closing the show.

Several Angus show strings will be on display at Mid-Kansas Aberdeen Angus Association field day Saturday at the E.J. Tatge and Son farm north of Ramona. 4-H, FFA boys and girls also will display their steers and heifers.

Those from Marion attending the annual meeting of the Women's Federation of Democratic Clubs in Hutchinson Saturday were Mrs. Harry Harris, Mrs. W.H. Carpenter, Leta Rees, Mrs. Roger Morse, Miss Julia Campbell and Mrs. Lydia Merilatt.
