Albert Stenzel, well known and liked Marion man, announced this week the opening of his minor repair shop at his home at 301 South Freeborn.

Guy Childs, manager of the Kaw Theatre, has extended an invitation to all high schools in the county to a special showing of the picture "Ulysses" at 2 p.m. April 4. "Ulysses" has been acclaimed by leading educators as a magnificent presentation of the great classic and as a valuable teaching aid.

Four rural schools north and west of Hillsboro are in the process of considering consolidation in the next year or two, according to report received this week. The districts are: Brudertal (No. 70), Unruh, (92), Silver Field (88) and French Creek (35).

Charles W. Gutsch has recently been elected vice president of Alpha Kappa Psi, national honorary business fraternity at the University of Wichita. Charles, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl H. Gutsch, Lincolnville, is a junior at the university majoring in accounting.

Mr. and Mrs. Gail Merrill visited with their daughter Carolyn, a freshman at KU, Lawrence, on Saturday. Carolyn will leave this Friday for Prescott, Arizona, where she will be maid of honor at the wedding of Miss Marilyn Reh on Sunday. She expects to go to Phoenix and spend the remainder of the Easter vacation with relatives.

The high-rated Tampa softball club has entered the "big league" of Kansas this year, with an organizational meeting to be held this week. Towns in the league will be Wichita (2 teams), Topeka (2), Hutchinson (2), Tampa, Great Bend, Ottawa, and Lawrence.

Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Vogel and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Whiteman, Wichita, spent several days last week visiting Cpl. and Mrs. Vernon Vogel, El Paso, Texas. Vernon was recently chosen solder of the month and also was awarded the safe truck driver award of the month.
