One of the most colorful of attractions known to man, a first class group of horses and horsemen, is coming to Marion County for the weekend. The entire Wyandotte County Sheriff's Posse, 75 strong, will be guests of Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Ferrell and son, Bill, on their ranch northeast of Marion. The posse will be a feature attraction in the annual Flint Hills Rodeo at Strong City this Saturday.

The large drain tile which carries run-off water from the ravine north of Main Street at the Skelly station site, south through the park and to the old river bed, is being taken up this week near the former park spring for re-laying. The tile which was put in several years ago, was apparently not laid to a drain grade and has been filling with mud near the spring site.

Second Lt. Thomas E. Duggan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas P. Duggan, Tampa, recently received the infantry school diploma at Fort Benning, Ga. He was runner-up for academic honors in the 172-member basic officers' class which graduated April 7.

Cub Scout Den No. 6 gathered at the city park Thursday evening for a wiener roast as a farewell for Dickie Maggard, a member of the den who is to make his home in California. Others enjoying the party were Tommy Tucker, Chris Hauser, George and Max Jackson, Darold and David Longhofer, Bobbie Hoch, Ronnie and Wayne King, Den Chief Tuck Tucker, Assistant Den Chief Dick Morse, and Den Mothers Mrs. William H. Tucker and Mrs. E.D. Longhofer.

Miss Judy Thatch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill DuVall received word this week that she had been granted an appointment to the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, Baltimore, Md. She will begin her studies in the 36-month program, starting Sept. 24.

The Lincolnville Alumni Association held its 40th anniversary banquet and ball on Decoration Day. The first class graduated from the school in 1916.
