Accompanied by appropriate military escort, the body of the late Private Jonathan Jantz, which arrived April 2 at the port of New York aboard the U.S. Army Transport Robert F. Burns, will be forwarded through the American Graves Registration Distribution Center in Kansas City, Mo., to Hillsboro, for final interment. The Burns, which sailed from Antwerp, carried bodies of 2,723 American dead returned from Henri Chappel cemetery, Belgium, and Varois and Epinal, France.

Badger Lumber Company has appointed a practical construction engineer and architect, and native Kansan, Robert B. Huey, to act as Farm Consultant. Mr. and Mrs. Huey will make their home in Marion.

Starting last Sunday the morning Santa Fe Doodle Bug bound from Ellinwood to Florence comes through Marion at 10:45 a.m., a half hour earlier than formerly. It now gets into Florence at 11:05 a.m.

Marion Equipment Company announces a big, free entertainment at the Marion City Auditorium April 15. Eight popular WIBW stars will be here in person to entertain. New color movies and other features will be shown in what is labeled an appreciation event for the entire community.

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Winter at Lincolnville was completely destroyed by fire last Wednesday afternoon. Only part of their furniture was saved. They lost all their bedding, clothing, food and kitchen equipment.

Wedding announcements in this issue included those of Marie Melson and Roy Obee, both of Burns; Murry Ann Fisher, Wynne, Ark., and Floyd Donald Funk, Durham; Janice Warders, Marysville, and David Von Riesen, Kansas City, Mo.; and Dalenen Jantz, Tampa, and Leonard Unruh, Durham.

Two new students, Dean Schroeder, Hillsboro, and Fiennes Jantz, Tampa, have enrolled for the private flying course at the Marion Airport.
