The staff at St. Luke Hospital invites the public for an open house Sunday, August 3, to inspect the new wing recently added to the hospital and other new features added to the main part of the building.

Marion's hard-hitting Babe Ruth League team, representing the Cottonwood Valley League, has slugged its way into the finals of the state tournament being held here in Marion. The final game will be played tonight, Thursday.

Mrs. Agnes Pientka, Marion, assists in preparing meals for the Marion School lunch during the school year. She has done this for the past seven years. For four summers she has assisted with the cooking at Rock Springs Ranch, state 4-h center, near Junction City. She is pictured as she prepares to bake cookies for 250 hungry 4-H campers.

Mrs. Howard E. Ford entertained the afternoon of July 19 in honor of Neil Osgood's birthday. Guests included Jimmie Swanson, Jimmie Magee, David Magee, Roger Jackson, George Jackson, Mike Wood, David Longhofer, Jimmie Sutherland, Blair Post, Neil Colle, Eddie Frickey, Chuck Bredemeier, John Sandwell, Mike Jantz, Bob Elling, Barry Avery, and Ronnie and Donnie Sloup.

As a farewell courtesy for Mrs. Wm. Wygle, who is soon to leave for their new home in Emporia, Mrs. Dean Batt, Mrs. Rosse Case, Mrs. Ed Frickey and Mrs. Edward Costello asked guests for a Coke party at the Batt home Monday afternoon.

Numerous Marion countians have been attending the unusually fine series of outdoor shows being presented this summer at Kansas City's Starlight Theatre.
