Members of the city commission have declared Oct. 23 to be a work day at the Marion Municipal Airport. Each business man in Marion is asked to come himself or send an employee to work on the field for at least two or three hours.

John J. McLinden had a unique experience Thursday of last week. He cried a sale for Martin S. Ludwig of Chase County on the same spot just 25 years ago to the day from when he had been the auctioneer for a sale for Ludwig's father. And the same man, Mr. Thurston, of the Clements State Bank, clerked both sales.

Mrs. Silas Weidenbener and Mrs. August Junior Hett were hostesses to members of Junior Athena Club for a Mystery Party Oct. 15 at the home of Mrs. Hett. After playing several games at the home, the guests were transported to a "Haunted House." Following the haunting, refreshments of hot dogs, doughnuts and cider were served.

The home of Mr. and Mrs. John Mehl was the scene of a lovely dinner party October 17 in celebration of the 40th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Richmond,the 23rd anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. E.O. Sandwell and the 13th anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Mehl which occur October 18. A three course dinner was served to Mr. and Mrs. Richmond, Mr. and Mrs. Sandwell and family, Mr. and Mrs. Mehl, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Richmond and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Richmond and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bud McLinden and Richard, Mrs. A. Sandwell, Esther Berg and Marie Melson.

Mrs. Grant Winne is having a garage moved to the east of her house on Elm Street.
