At a meeting held in the Canada Community Hall this Monday evening 75 to 100 farmers living within the drainage area above the proposed flood control dam on the North Cottonwood River, voted to organize a group to oppose the plan and to start a movement against the construction of this dam.

The junior class play, "Act Your Age," presented Jan. 29 proved to be so enjoyable that it will be on stage a second time Feb. 11. The cast, under the direction of Miss Maude Thompson is comprised of Donna Powell, Dolores Edmunds, Alta Stenzel, Jim Garrison, Don Schlotz, Jean Hagans, Margaret Pientka, Clyde Hiebert and Norma Sandwell.

One of the existing copies of the New York Herald for April 15, 1865, giving its readers the first news of President Lincoln's assassination and death, is owned by Jack Ambrose, here visiting his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose, a few days.

The Scout House in the city park is again in shipshape condition for meeting of the organization. The troops, which have been forced to meet in the city building and the school house since the last flood, will resume gathering at the scout house.

The Mennonite Brethren male quartet of Hillsboro will present a sacred concert at the First Evangelical church on Sunday. Members of the quartet are Lowell Hagans, first tenor; Pete Dalke, second tenor; Jona Baltzer, baritone; and Karl Jaworsky, second bass.

A group of students in expression under Mrs. T.B. Matlock entertained Monday at Kiwanis with a patriotic playlet. Those taking part included Judy Coons, Milton Wayne Weidenbener, Jim Parson, Monty Frazier, John Newcomer and David Willis Wheeler.
