Rex Siebert was named president of the Hereford Breeders Association at a meeting of that body Friday afternoon. Cecil Medley, Tampa, was elected vice president and H.M. Hauser, secretary-treasurer.

Joe E. Parsons has been hired by the board of education for a fourth year. Miss Edna Rupp has been employed as clerk of the board and secretary to Mr. Parsons. She will assume her duties May 1, the date of the resignation of Miss Lydia Schimpf who presently serves in that capacity.

Gene W. Heath, 38, a farmer living four miles south of Peabody, was appointed county bindweed supervisor at a meeting of the Board of County Commissioners on Monday. He will assume his duties March 15.

At a ceremony between games Friday night, Virginia Hayen, who had been chosen by popular vote by the student body, was crowned basketball queen. Junior Case, chosen in the same manner from the basketball squad, presented the crown of white lilies. She was attended by Virginia Geis and Jeanne Carpenter.

Mrs. Bob Dixon entertained a number of little folks at a Valentine party at her home Feb. 14. Refreshments were served to Marilyn Dixon, Caroline Susdorf, Coleen Allen, Carol Allen, Helen Weber, Peggy Slusser, Louise, Irene and Delphine Ford, Betty, Paul, Larry and Gary Ford, Dean Kelsey, Laird Helmer, Mrs. Dalphas Ford, Mrs. Jerome Ford and Mrs. Chas. Hobein.

Eighty junior high children participated Feb. 7 in a series of varied dances and scenes. The operetta "Top O' The World" gave every student and important part. One of the most impressive of these was the Indian scene in which Max Merrill and Mary Margaret Hannaford were soloists. In the cowboy scene, Roger Ireland sang about his lost sweetheart and danced with "Minnie the cow" which furnished a laugh when her head caught on the scenery.
