Reorganized Districts 12 and 126 are to function next year. Florence will operate under reorganization plan next year if no appeal for rehearing is filed by the weekend, D.M. Ward, chairman of the county school reorganization committee, says. The status of Lincolnville, Pilsen and Antelope plans are indefinite due to filing of rehearing request.

Ray and Rusty Longhofer are making excellent progress in preparing the site of the former Winne Lumber Company for their business. Remodeling of the office building is entirely complete and progress is being made on reflooring the center building with reinforced concrete.

The annual spring show of the Marion County Hereford Breeder's Association, which will be held here a week from Saturday, April 6, is gaining statewide recognition. Indications are that cattlemen from a large area will be here to witness the show and to see the type of cattle Marion County breeders are producing.

Formal opening of Van's, Marion's newest business addition, will be this Saturday, March 30, with a special preview opening to which the public in invited on the evening before.

Arrangements are completed for instituting a Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Post in Marion. The Abilene degree team will come Sunday, April 17, to install the post in which to date more than 100 veterans of World War II are seeking membership.

At the Junior High chapel service March 15, Treva Kelsey led the flag salute and Bud Hannaford had devotions. Musical numbers were given by Ethel Hiebert, Roberta Ernestine Good, Donna Miesse and Donnie Hayen. Juanita Jo Ford gave a reading. Judge Jay Hargett was the guest speaker.
