Dr. Charles Magee will join the ranks of Marion medical circles when he opens offices here about August 1. Dr. and Mrs. Magee are now in Wichita where he is in practice. They have purchased the Holt property at 215 N. Cedar Street.

Another young professional man has come to Marion this week to hang out his shingle and become a part of the community. He is Roger Morse, son of Mrs. Frank Morse on South Third Street, a Marion High graduate in 1933 — who went on to law school at George Washington in Washington D.C.

The Marion Recreation Parlor went to new owners last Monday when Harry House, owner for the past two years, sold out to Everett C. Talbott. It will now be called Everett's Recreation Parlor.

Miss FernEtta Stenzel, whose marriage to Robert Hoover will occur Sunday, was honored at an elaborately planned miscellaneous shower at the home of Mrs. Homer Stenzel Friday evening, June 28.

Earl Prieb, manager of the local J.C. Penney Co. store and Mrs. Prieb and sons entertained members of the store force at a hamburger fry and picnic at the lake Tuesday evening. Those there included, the Priebs, Mrs. Howard Ford, Mrs. Alice Gerstenkorn, Mrs. Elnora Reiswig, Mrs. Maurie Frazier, Miss Mayme Van Sickle, Miss Marie Piper, Miss Dorothy Abel, Miss Janice Socolofsky and Miss Frances Mehlinger. Mrs. Anna Hein was unable to be present.

Sally Sherrard, Treva Kelsey, Darlene Zeller, Ethel Hiebert, Edna Grimes and Monty Frazier returned June 23 after a week's stay at the International Conference of the Christian Church which was held at the College of Emporia.

Rosse Case, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Case, received his separation from the Navy at Norman, Okla., and arrive home Wednesday morning. Rosse served overseas the past year in the Philippines, Japan, and more recently at Shanghai, China.
