Two more farm accidents have been reported lately. June Jost, who lives at the south edge of town, caught his hand in a combine a week ago Wednesday, and lost his right thumb to the first joint. Mrs. Art Dieter was involved in a mowing machine accident, Monday morning, at their farm southeast of town and suffered serious cuts on her foot and ankle.

As a convenience for their many customers in this area, the Seymour buying station will open next Monday in their new location, the first door east of the Marion Lumber Co. They have recently put in a full line of Russell poultry remedies and have started a farm route with trucks to pick up produce at the farmer's door.

The fifth case of infantile paralysis in this county was reported at Hillsboro this week. This is the first case that city has had. The patient is Leroy Goentzel, 10-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Goentzel. He became ill over last weekend and was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Wichita on Monday.

Albert Mastek has opened a new business, Al's Café, in Tampa. Mr. Mastek received his discharge in 1945 after being in the army for about four years. His many friends wish him luck in his new business.

Mr. and Mrs. Minor Lee left Tuesday for a three week trip to their old home in Lewistown, Kentucky. It is the first time they have visited there since Minor came to Marion some 40 years ago. He has been a faithful employee of the Badger Lumber Co., until his retirement a few years ago. He is now employed by Harry McFadden.

Mr. and Mrs. R.N. Amick and Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Carpenter visited, Saturday afternoon and evening, with Norma Jean Amick and Jeanne Carpenter, who are spending the summer at Mary Dell Girl Scout Camp at Abilene. They attended the Girl Scout picnic and report the girls as having a marvelous time.

Many property changes have been made in Marion during the past few weeks. Dr. Chas. Magee, Marion's newest physician, has purchased the Herman Holt home on Cedar; the W.A. Remmers house on East Main was sold to and will be occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Fay Mott, who have sold their home to W.O. Meyers, formerly of Lincolnville; and the Joe Parson's home on North Roosevelt was bought by Milton Miller of Cottonwood Falls.
