The annual summer Dutch lunch of the Marion Chamber of Commerce, held Monday evening at the Country Club was an exceptionally enjoyable event. Highlight of the evening was the introduction of 14 servicemen who spoke briefly of their experiences. Introduced were S/Sgt. Bob Bailey, Pfc. Herman Bartel, Sgt. Glenn Dody, Clifford Good, T/Sgt. Joe Graves, Cpl. Jim Grubb, Sgt. Richard Hollar, Cpl. Chas. Linn, Pfc. Scotty Mason, Pfc. John Miller, 1st Sgt. Benjamin F. Province, Pfc. Bob Selvy, Sgt. Louis Vinduska and S/Sgt. Vernon Wangerin.

Bernard Broadstreet took over the grocery delivery service in Marion Tuesday, having purchased it from Maurice Fick. The delivery hours will remain the same, beginning at 9 a.m. in the valley and 3 p.m. on the hill.

Miss Barbara Knight, able and efficient chief clerk of the county ration office since March 1942, has submitted her resignation.

A picnic for the men of the Marion Creamery and their wives was held at the lake Friday. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Wolf, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Powell, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Melcher, Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Blankley, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Knackstedt and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Dick.

Mrs. Martha Knight and daughters entertained with a picnic last Tuesday evening honoring Ruth Elaine Kreuter PHM 2/C of Norfolk, Virginia, and Camille Masucci PHM 3/C of Bethesda, Maryland, who are visiting at the Kreuter home. Additional guests were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Kreuter, Corrine Nelson and Joy Socolofsky.
