A dent was left in Marion County's population last weekend in an exodus to Colorado of six of her young married couples. The Jewett pickup was fitted up with seats along each side and the group set out Friday evening, camping out along they way. Those who made the trip were Mr. and Mrs. Burt Jewett, Mr. and Mrs. George Helmer, Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Allen, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Giesbrecht, Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Boese, and Mr. and Mrs. Junior Magathan. They started back home from Colorado Springs Monday evening, none the worse of the trip except for bad cases of sunburn.

Construction on the house being built by Mr. and Mrs. Allen Kimball on North Elm Street is underway. Riddle Quarries Inc. is pouring the foundations and Earl Barrett will build the house.

Mrs. Myrtle Davies, assisted by Mrs. Joe Thiel, entertained the following little folks at a party July 24 for Ann Davies, who was celebrating her ninth birthday: Pauline and John Minear, Allen Dean Harms, Nila and Neal Hoopes, Cora and Patsy McCarty, Susan Rae Thiel, Judy Thatch, Goldie Haas, Eilene Hansen, and Carol Hett.

A nine pound two ounce daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Leland Weber at the Hillsboro hospital July 23 whom they have named Barbara Jean.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Elling and son are living in an apartment in the Mrs. Jacob Good house until Mrs. Frank Hagans, Jean and Bob move to Manhattan about the middle of September. The Ellings have purchased the Hagans house.

Miss Bettie Louise Geis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Geis of Okeene, Okla., and Dean Batt, son of Charles Batt of Marion, were married July 19 in the Baptist church at Okeene.

Mrs. Bob Mathiot honored her daughter, Imogene, at a party at their home July 12 in celebration of her 17th birthday. Guests invited were Janice Socolofsky, Rosse Case, LaVerna Knight, Jack Beaston, Phyllis Beu, Howard Collett, Mary Louise Tibbetts, Bob Hagans, Virginia Geis, Dwight Waddell, Colleen Vogel, Allen Hein, Marjie Frazier, Don Schlotz, Wanda Hannaford, Billy Ollenberger, Corrine Longhofer, Leroy McDaris, Boyd Higgins Jr., and Imogene.
