3 Ring Circus to perform at Chingawassa Days

3 Ring Circus will perform during Chingawassa Days

Popular Wichita "party band" 3 Ring Circus will perform June 4-5 during Chingawassa Days in Marion Central Park.

The group is comprised of three bands with music from the 1960s "British invasion" called Union Jacks, music of the 1970s performed by Polly, Esther and the Pleasures, and the Vegas-style show of 3 Ring Circus.

The 15 members of 3 Ring Circus will perform popular dance favorites from the '60s, '70s, '80s, and '90s with some crossover country hits.

Every circus member eventually will be in the center ring, dancing and playing an instrument.

One act will be the horn section juggling balls while performing.

The musicians are four guitarists, four horn players, three female vocalists, three keyboardists, two drummers, and one bassist.

The Union Jacks are the world's premier tribute to the British invasion of the 1960s. The band takes audience members back in time with British accents and fashion straight from Carnaby Street.

Selections will include songs from the Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Dave Clark Five, The Moody Blues, and The Beatles.

Polly, Esther and the Pleasures will be a flashback to the 1970s. Songs will include harmonies from the 5th Dimension to the guitar riffs of Lynryd Skynryd to the flashy disco of the late '70s.

The Union Jacks will perform at 8:30 p.m. and 3 Ring Circus will follow at 9:30 p.m. June 4.

Polly, Esther and the Pleasures will perform at 7:15 p.m. June 5, before Little River Band takes the stage at 9 p.m.

Buttons are available for $5 and $20 through May 28, and $7 and $25 after May 28 from participating merchants.
