Accidents

The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Jason M. Schroeder, 26, 415 South Lincoln, Hillsboro, was southbound on Sunflower just south of 180th at 10:10 p.m. Aug. 13. A raccoon came from the west ditch and was struck by the 2000 Chevrolet S10 Schroeder was driving. Deputy Larry Starkey states Schroeder was not injured.

At 9 p.m. Aug. 13, Laurie Creamer, 1220 Weldon, Marion, had legally parked her car at Florence ball field. An unknown vehicle struck Creamer's 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier in the driver's side door, stated Undersheriff Randal Brazil.

Todd S. Naylor, 37, 286 Zebulon, Burns, was westbound on 30th just east of Sunflower at 6:10 a.m. Aug. 13. A deer entered the roadway and was struck by the 1991 GMC pickup Naylor was driving. Naylor was not injured, reports Deputy Rollin Schmidt.

Dwight A. Nelson, 44, 1832 140th, Marion, was southbound on Nighthawk just south of 170th at 12:50 a.m. Aug. 13. Several deer entered the roadway from the west. Nelson, driving a 1996 Dodge pickup, swerved to avoid the deer and entered the east ditch. The vehicle is registered to American Energies Corp., Canton. Nelson was not injured, reports Deputy Vinski.

Daniel C. D'Albini, 43, 811 East D, Apt. B, Hillsboro, was northbound on U.S.-77 just north of U.S.-50 at 9:20 p.m. Aug. 14. Jill C. Harp, 45, Junction City, also was northbound and had slowed down for a vehicle on the side of the road. D'Albini, driving a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe, struck the rear of Harp's 1996 Ford F-150. Passenger in the Harp vehicle was Russell Harp, 44, of the home. No one was injured, reports Undersheriff Brazil.

Shirley J. Suderman, 55, 1255 Old Mill, Marion, was turning left onto Old Mill from 140th at 5:15 p.m. Aug. 6. Michele D. Hett, 42, 1212 Pawnee, Peabody, was westbound on 140th. Suderman, driving a 1994 Dodge Caravan, did not see Hett's 2000 Nissan Frontier due to dusty roadway conditions and struck the driver side of the vehicle. Phoebe L. Hett, 5, of the home was a passenger in the Hett vehicle. No one was injured, reports Undersheriff Brazil.

Judy K. Bickford, 43, 305 North C, Ramona, was southbound on Quail Creek just north of 310th at 6:20 a.m. Aug. 10. A deer ran into the path of Bickford's 1994 Ford Taurus and was hit. Bickford was not injured, reports Deputy Aaron Waddell.

Tamara Stenzel, 32, 566 290th Durham, was eastbound on 290th at Falcon at 7:45 a.m. Aug. 9. A deer entered the roadway and was struck by Stenzel's 1998 Pontiac. She was not injured, reports Deputy Vineski.
