Accidents

The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Stephanie Shipley, 41, 313 Roosevelt, Tampa, was southbound on K-15 near 120th at 10 p.m. Sept. 21, in a 1999 Pontiac passenger car when a deer came from a west ditch. Shipley was unable to avoid hitting the deer, reported Marion County Sheriff Sergeant Jeff Soyez. There were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Elizabeth L. D'Albini, 25, 405 S. Washington, Hillsboro, was westbound on U.S.-56 near mile marker 285 at 6 a.m. Sept. 30, in a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt passenger car when a raccoon ran onto the roadway and was struck. Sheriff deputy Jim Philpott reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Shiloh W. Kessler, 28, 620 Marion Ave., Goessel, was northbound on Bison near 245th at 1:30 a.m. Oct. 1, in a 2005 Dodge Caravan when he lost control. The vehicle struck a railroad bridge and rolled, coming to rest upside down in an east ditch. There were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages, reported Deputy Philpott.

John H. Ruebke, 71, Hesston, was southbound on K-15 near mile marker 122 at 2 a.m. Oct. 6, in a 2001 Chevrolet Venture when the driver fell asleep and crossed into the northbound lane. When the vehicle went onto the shoulder, the driver awoke, overcorrected, and lost control, rolling the vehicle. Deputy Philpott reported the driver was injured and transported by Hillsboro ambulance to Newton Medical Center.
