Accidents

The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Jonathan R. Crouse, 17, 204 Case, Lehigh, was eastbound on 210th just east of Meridian at 9:18 p.m. Nov. 30. A deer entered the roadway. Crouse, driving a 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass, swerved to avoid hitting the deer, lost control, and entered the south ditch, overturning one time. The vehicle is registered to Beth Crouse of the home. Sarah R. Crouse, 12, of the home was a passenger in the vehicle. Both Jonathan and Sarah Crouse were taken by Marion County EMS of Hillsboro to Hillsboro Community Medical Center, reports Deputy Mike Vineski.

Kathy L. Preheim, 38, 2008 East 50th, Peabody, was northbound on Old Mill just north of 40th at 8:42 p.m. Dec. 7. Preheim, driving a 2001 Dodge Caravan, lost control on the snow-covered uneven surface of the roadway and went into the west ditch. Two fence posts and wires, property of Willard Harms, 1559 East 50th, Peabody, were broken. Passengers in the vehicle were Randall J., 40; Zachary, 11; Nicholas, 8; and Kaitlyn Preheim, 13. No one was injured, reports Deputy Larry Starkey.
