Accidents

The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Betty A. Fetrow, 83, Rt. 1, Box 132, Cedar Point, was southbound on Sunflower just north of 150th at 5:20 p.m. Dec. 12. A deer entered the roadway from the east ditch and was struck by Fetrow's 2000 Buick. Deputy Josh Whitwell states Fetrow was not injured.

Katlin H. Hett, 16, 1546 Sunflower Road, Marion, was eastbound on 140th just west of Sunflower at 2:15 p.m. Dec. 10. Another vehicle was approaching from the east. Hett thought the vehicle was close to the center line and swerved hitting an icy spot on the road, spun into the south ditch, and hit a feed bunker. Hett was driving a 1992 Jeep Cherokee registered to David Hett, 1212 North Pawnee Road, Peabody. The feed bunker is property of Lyle Leppke, 1917 140th, Marion. Hett was not injured, reports deputy Whitwell.

Rusty A. Entz, 26, 271 Old Mill Road, Peabody, was southbound on Pawnee just north of 40th at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 9. A deer ran from the east ditch and struck the left side of Entz's 1999 Ford F-350. Deputy Larry Starkey states Entz was not injured.

Diane R. Kruger, 37, Newton was approaching an unmarked intersection at 80th and Chisholm Trail at 8:54 a.m. Dec. 18. Kruger, driving a 2004 Oldsmobile, hit the brakes, slid across the intersection, flipped, and landed upside down in the northwest ditch. She was injured and taken to Newton Medical Center. Other occupants in the vehicle, D'Ambla Kruger, 11; Derek Kruger, 13; and Dane Kruger, 8; were not injured.
