Accidents
The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:
Stanley M. Thiessen, 53, 212 North Ash, Hillsboro, was westbound on U.S.-56 just west of K-15 at 10:45 p.m. May 9. A deer crossed the roadway and was struck by Thiessen's 1998 Dodge Durango. Officer D. Kinning states Thiessen was not injured.
Shawn Eric Hayes, 18, 403 South Third, Marion, was eastbound on 60th just east of Mustang at 2:45 p.m. ay 12. Hayes lost control if his 1993 Buick Century, entering the ditch twice before rolling the vehicle. Jennifer Marie Verbic, 20, 311 North Locust, Marion, was a passenger in the vehicle which is registered to Bill Freeby, 311 North Locust, Marion. Hayes was taken by Midwest Lifeteam air Ambulance to Wesley Medical Center and Verbic was taken by Peabody Ambulance to Wesley Medical Center. A fence damaged in the accident is property of Doug Gillett, 747 Nighthawk, Peabody, reports Deputy James Philpott.
