Accidents

The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Jeanetta L. Hanschu, 60, 3535 Sunflower, Ramona, was driving eastbound on 360th at 7:30 a.m. May 25, when she lost control of the vehicle she was driving, a 1990 Buick LeSabre. She told Marion County Sheriff Lee Becker that she was traveling at 45-50 mph at the time of the accident. The vehicle slid in a north ditch and overturned. There were no injuries and damages were listed as more than $1,000.

Kristina Joann Boese, 20, Canton, was driving a 1974 Ford truck and turning into the driveway of Mid-Kansas Cooperative on K-15, north of 120th, at 4:59 p.m. June 13, when the truck tipped over on the left side. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Duane McCarty reported the driver was injured and a passenger, James V. Boese, 18, Canton, had a possible injury. The truck was registered to Rodney D. Boese, Canton.

Jana R. Blank, 34, Sedgwick, was driving a 2005 Honda Pilot westbound on K-15, about one-half mile west of K-15, at 12:55 p.m. June 15, when she lost control and entered a north ditch. The vehicle struck a culvert and stopped in a field. Passengers in the vehicle were Seth Blank, 8, and Avery Blank, 6, both of Sedgwick. There were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages, reported deputy Jim Philpott.

Travis E. Hamm, 28, 209 N. Freeborn, Marion, was eastbound on U.S.-56, west of Chisholm Trail, at 11:42 p.m. June 15 in a 1999 Ford pickup, when he fell asleep and hit a guardrail on the south side of the highway which caused the vehicle to enter a south ditch. The vehicle was registered to American Energies Corporation, Canton. Deputy Josh Whitwell reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Stephen D. McCombs, 26, Lehigh, was driving a 1997 GMC pickup eastbound on 210th at 2:30 p.m. June 20, when he swerved to avoid hitting two deer in the roadway. The vehicle entered a south ditch and overturned. The vehicle was registered to Robert Diaz, of the same address. There were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages, reported deputy Whitwell.
