Accidents

The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Bobby G. Wood Jr., 35, El Dorado, was driving a 1979 Kenworth northbound on Indigo Road, three-quarters of a mile south of 120th, at 8;35 a.m. July 10, when a deer came from an east ditch and was struck. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Larry Starkey reported the driver was not injured. The truck was owned by Mid-Kansas Cooperative, Walton. No damage estimates were listed.

Audrey A. Slocombe, 68, of 407 Elm, Peabody, was eastbound in a 2001 Chevrolet Impala on U.S.- 50 at 4:16 p.m. July 11, when she fell asleep, and her car crossed the center line and struck the trailer of a semi driven by Frankie G. Rohrbough, 60, Altamont. The 1994 Peterbuilt was owned by Starkan, Inc., Edna. Undersheriff Randal Brazil reported that Slocombe had possible injuries but was not transported. Rohrbough was not injured.
