Accidents

The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Ardath P. Graber, 56, Moundridge, was driving a 2003 Ford Ranger pickup eastbound on 160th at 9 a.m. Sept. 13, when it struck a 1998 Ford F-150 pickup driven by Lois Latham, 41, 2367 Diamond Road, Lehigh, at the intersection of Chisholm Trail and 160th. The Ford F-150 then went into a dry creek bed. Jason Woodward, 4, of the same address, was a passenger with Latham. The Ford F-150 was registered to Tri Lakes Petroleum of Branson, Mo. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Larry Starkey reported that Hillsboro EMS responded to the crash. There was more than $1,000 in damages.

Leonard A. Frantz, 57, 878 250th, Hillsboro, was parked in a 1997 Mercury Villager on the east side of McDonald's parking lot at 812 E. D Street, Hillsboro, at 10:20 a.m. Sept. 17, and did not see a 1993 Nissan pickup driven by Clarence Duerksen, 79, 205 S. Ash #1, Hillsboro, who was stopped behind him. The Frantz vehicle backed into the right side of the Duerksen vehicle. Kathy J. Frantz, 53, of the same address, was a passenger in the Frantz vehicle, reported Hillsboro Police Officer David Funk. There were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Mark L. Pagenkopf, 53, 2421 310th, Lost Springs, was backing from a parking stall on Main Street in Lincolnville at 9 a.m. Sept. 19 in a 1999 Ford F-350 pickup, when his vehicle was struck in the passenger door by a 1998 Buick Century passenger car driven by Joe J. Alvarez, 76, 280 W. Lincoln, Lost Springs, who was westbound on Main Street. Connie Alvarez, 70, of the same address, was a passenger in the Alvarez car. There were no injuries and more than a $1,000 in damages, reported undersheriff Randal Brazil.
