Accidents

The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Corrine K. Foth, 47, 317 N. Birch, Hillsboro, was westbound on U.S.-56 at 6:15 p.m. Jan. 21 when a deer entered the roadway. Foth's 1994 Pontiac Grand Am struck the deer. Deputy Josh Whitwell states Foth was not injured.

Larry D. Anderson, 50, McPherson was westbound on U.S.-56 at 6:25 p.m. Jan. 21. A deer was dead in the roadway and was struck by Anderson's 2000 Honda Civic. Ann M. Anderson, 49, of the home was a passenger in the vehicle. The Andersons were not injured, reports Deputy Whitwell.

Frank A. Brinkman, 40, 1710 East 50th, Peabody, was northbound on Old Mill Road just north of 54th at 2:22 p.m. Jan. 21. Brinkman stated he sneezed, entered the east ditch and was unable to bring his 1983 Chevrolet Caprice onto the roadway. The vehicle entered the ditch, striking an embankment. Deputy Rollin Schmidt states Brinkman was taken by Peabody Ambulance to Newton Medical Center.

Amber N. Engel, 19, Fairfield, Neb., was northbound on U.S.-56/77 just north of 310th at 3 p.m. Jan. 4. Engel lost control of the 1999 Jeep she was driving, crossed left of center, and rolled into the west ditch. Katherine C. Rose, 21, Derby, was a passenger in the vehicle and was taken by Tampa Ambulance to Herington Hospital, states Sergeant Jeff Soyez.

Bernie R. Faust, 55, Overbrook, was eastbound on U.S.-56 just west of Cedar Street, Marion, at 8:38 p.m. Jan. 2. Faust, driving a 1999 Chevrolet pickup, attempted to use his brakes to slow down and slid on the ice into the bridge. Linda S. Faust, 53, of the home, was a passenger in the vehicle. Sergeant Soyez states the Fausts were not injured.

Kenneth T. Henson, 54, 302 West 3rd., Hillsboro, was westbound on U.S.-56 just west of Cedar Street, Marion, at 8:30 p.m. Jan. 2. Henson lost control of the 1999 Ford pickup he was driving and struck the bridge. Corbin Henson, 11, of the home was a passenger in the vehicle. No injuries were reported, states Sergeant Soyez.

Cassandra M. Ransom, 29, 125 North Roosevelt, Marion, was westbound on 190th just west of Goldenrod at 10 a.m. Jan. 15. Ransom's 2001 Nissan Frontier entered the icy roadway and slid into the ditch. Deputy Schmidt states Ransom was not injured.
