Accidents

The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Roxann Dunfield, 50, 210 West First, Peabody, was southbound on Old Mill just north of 10th at 9:10 p.m. July 8. A deer came from the west ditch and was struck by Dunfield's 2004 Ford Taurus. The vehicle is registered to Jeffrey Dunfield of the home. Deputy Larry Starkey states Dunfield was not injured.

Ryan K. Walker, 37, McPherson, was backing out of a campsite at Marion Reservoir at 2:13 p.m. July 10. Timothy S. Stone, 17, Abilene, was southbound on the campsite road. The left rear of Walker's 1982 GMC pickup struck the left side of Stone's 1998 Ford pickup. Stone's vehicle is registered to Janette M. Sexton of Abilene. Passengers in the Stone vehicle were Casey Sexton, 11; Monty Sexton, 12; and Noble Stone, 13; all of Abilene. No one was injured, reports Hillsboro chief of police Dan Kinning.

Tara R. Case, 24, Wichita, was driving north on Limestone just north of 210 at 2:30 a.m. June 25. A raccoon ran out of the ditch and was struck by Case's 2003 Chevrolet Malibu. Passengers in the vehicle were Chriss Roach, 25; Mason Roach, eight weeks; Stacey Case, 25, all of Wichita; and Juston Thatcher, 22, Belle Plain. Hillsboro officer Lyle Gillett reports no one was injured.
