Accidents

The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Paul D. Penner, 54, 935 230th, Hillsboro, was westbound on 370th just east of Jade at 9:50 a.m. July 20. A deer entered the roadway from the south ditch. Penner, driving a 1999 Chevrolet pickup, could not avoid hitting the deer. Deputy Rollin Schmidt states Penner was not injured.

Carol A. Unruh, 44, 506 West Grand, Apt. 5C, Hillsboro, was eastbound on 320th just west of K-15 at 4 p.m. July 27. Unruh, driving a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu, lost control on new gravel and entered the south ditch hitting a fence and fence post. The damaged property belongs to Dudley Donahue, 748 310th, Durham. Unruh was not injured, reports Deputy Mike Vineski.

Brittany K. Owens, 16, 414 Lombard, Lincolnville, was southbound on Vista just north of 320th at 11:25 a.m. July 14. Owens lost control of her 1988 Mazda and entered the east ditch, overturning one time. The vehicle is registered to Brian Owens, of the home. Owens was injured but not transported, reports Undersheriff Randal Brazil.

Kendra D. Holub, 18, 1211 North Anderson, Newton, was northbound on Sunflower just north of 120th at 5:38 p.m. July 25. Holub, driving a 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass, went off the edge of the road on the east side, steered back onto the road and lost control. She then went off the west side, down an embankment striking a fence and two fence posts, and rolled one time. The vehicle is registered to Kenneth Holub, 519 North Freeborn, Marion. The damaged fence is property of Doug Regier, 1948 120th, Peabody. Holub was taken by private vehicle to St. Luke Hospital.

Johanthan C. Nesser, 15, 410 Barker, Florence, was southbound on Xavier just north of 127th at 12:45 p.m. July 14. The front tire of Nesser's 1989 Jeep blew out causing him to enter the east ditch, striking a reflective sign and guardrail. The vehicle is registered to Gary Nesser of the home. Nesser was not injured, reports Deputy Whitwell.
