Accidents

The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Shawn R. Geis, 41, 2209 Remington Rd., Marion was southbound on Remington Road just south of 210th at 3:15 p.m. Aug. 13. A deer entered the roadway from the east ditch and was struck by Geis' 2003 Chrysler Town and Country. The vehicle is registered to Dale Geis of the home. Geis was not injured, reports Deputy Josh Whitwell.

Teaira Lahounus N. Chavers, 16, 415 Lombard, Lincolnville, was eastbound on 180th just west of Timber at 4:19 p.m. Aug. 8. Chavers lost control of her 1998 Ford Explorer while going around a curve on a gravel road. The vehicle slid sideways into the south shoulder, struck a mailbox, then rolled onto the driver's side. Passengers in the vehicle were Megan E. Gutsch, 17, 406 West 7th, Lincolnville, Christopher R. Brewer, 17, 129 West Santa Fe, Marion, Justin T. Anderson, 17, 1002 Nickerson, Marion, and Emanuel J. Jackson, 17, 115 North Third, Apt. 2, Marion. Deputy Mike Vineski states there were no injuries. The vehicle is registered to William Turner, 415 Lombard, Lincolnville. The mailbox and post damaged in the accident are property of Caroline Kelly, 2077 180th, Marion.

Gerald C. Frank, 46, Salina, was northbound on Sunflower just south of 170th at 9:05 p.m. Aug. 6. A deer came from the east ditch and was struck by Frank's 2000 Chrysler Town and Country. Passengers in the vehicle were Melvin Kejr, 49, and Greta Frank, 45, both of Salina. Undersheriff Brazil reports there were no injuries.
