Accidents
The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:
Kara M. Holt, 17, 834 Marion, Florence, was northbound on Pawnee just south of 170th at 7:55 a.m. Aug. 25. Holt's 1999 Ford Escort entered a flooded area and was swept off the roadway. The vehicle is registered to Jeffrey Holt of the home. Deputy Josh Whitwell states Holt was not injured.
Terry L. Chizek, 47, 308 Miller, Marion, was southbound on Sunflower just south of 140th at 5:15 a.m. Aug. 25. Chizek did not see water over the road and spun into the guardrail. He was driving a 1998 Ford Contour, and was not injured, reports Deputy Whitwell.
Sonja J. Johnson, 39, Burrton, was westbound on 150th at Goldenrod at 11:06 p.m. Aug. 27. Johnson saw cows approaching from the north ditch. She slowed down and swerved into the eastbound lane to avoid the cows, but struck one cow with the right front fender of her 2000 Ford Explorer. The vehicle is registered to Allen C. Johnson of the home. Deputy Larry Starkey states she was not injured. The cow is property of Rodney Boese, 1368 Alamo, Canton.
