Accidents investigated

The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Christina M. McCarty, 20, 408 West Eighth Street, Florence was northbound on Sunflower at 130th at 9 p.m. Dec. 23. A raccoon was in the roadway. McCarty, driving a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier, applied brakes but could not avoid hitting raccoon. Randi M. McCarty, 17, of the home was a passenger in the vehicle. Deputy Larry Starkey states no one was injured.

Skye R. Young, 37, 306 North Birch, Hillsboro, was westbound on 120th at Goldenrod at 9:45 p.m. Dec. 27. A deer came out of the south ditch and was struck by Young's 2001 Chrysler van. Young was not injured, reports Undersheriff Randal Brazil.

Barry L. Montgomery, 45, 416 Main, Lincolnville, was southbound on U.S.-56/77 just north of K-150 at 7:10 a.m. Dec. 28. A deer came out of the west ditch and was struck by Montgomery's 2004 Honda motorcycle. Montgomery was injured, but did not require transport, states Undersheriff Brazil.

Donella Humphries, 47, 433 Circle Drive, Florence, backed from a parking spot at Ninth just east of Barker and struck a 1992 Ford Taurus registered to Everett Haskins, Wichita. Humphries was driving a 1997 Lincoln Town Car registered to Ronnie Humphries of the home. Deputy Starkey reports there were no injuries.
