Accidents reported

The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Henry J. Slifer, 34, 302 North Third, Marion, was turning east onto 170th from Lakeshore Drive at 1:55 p.m. Feb. 8. Connie J. Williams, 42, 217 North Lincoln, Marion, was turning right off 170th onto Lakeshore Drive. Slifer's 1982 Ford Bronco struck Williams' 2003 International school bus, registered to Marion-Florence USD #408. The scene of the accident was snowpacked, states Undersheriff Randal Brazil. Passengers in the bus were Garrett Alleven, 5, 1867 East 140th, Marion; Jordan Laurin, 8, and Anna Laurin, 12, both of 38 Hillcrest, Marion; Daniel Hett, 12, 1767 140th, Marion; Quinten Hett, 8, and Jeremy Hett, 6, both of 1489 Sunflower, Marion; Phoebe Hett, 5, 1212 Pawnee, Marion; Randy Regnier, 12, Adam Regnier, 14, and Eric Regnier, 10, all of 2182 140th, Marion; Whitney Gordon, 10, and Luke Gordon, 14, both of 1748 Upland, Marion; Landon Leiker, 11, 107 Lakeshore, Marion; Ryan Nelson, 9, 1832 140th, Marion; Emma Hett, 13, 2208 Gilham, Marion; Gabe Moore, 14, 76 Lakeshore Drive, Marion; Adam Trapp, 15, 1609 Turkey Creek, Marion; Mitchel Leppke, 14, 1917 140th Marion; Colby Hett, 14, 2208 Gilham, Marion; and Amara Neuberger, 15, Upland Road, Marion. There were no injuries.

Theresa L. Ross, 43, Newton, was westbound on 130th just west of Chisholm Trail at 11:15 a.m. Feb. 9. Ross, driving a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder, entered an icy portion of the roadway. She was unable to prevent the vehicle from entering a skid, striking the south ditch, and stopping on its side. Ross was injured, but did not require transport, states Deputy Rollin Schmidt.
