Accidents reported

The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Austin Hiebert, 17, 448 180th, Hillsboro, was traveling northbound on K-15 in a John Deere 8650 tractor at 5:30 p.m. June 5, when Duane Garrett, 40, Abilene, was riding a 1995 Honda motorcycle and Melody A. Garrett, 33, Abilene, was following on a 2004 Kawasawki motorcycle. Hiebert pulled off of the road to let the motorcycles pass when Melody Garrett started to pass and stopped and was struck by Duane Garrett. Melody Garrett was injured and transported by Hillsboro EMS to Memorial Hospital, Abilene. Duane Garrett had possible injuries. Hiebert was not injured, reported Marion County Sheriff Deputy Jim Philpott.

John H. Antoszyk, 42, 3660 Remington, Ramona, was southbound on Remington near 340th in a 2004 Ford Excursion at 5:34 a.m. June 11, when a deer came out of a west ditch, entered the roadway, and was struck. Marion County Undersheriff Randal Brazil reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Sara Sebring, 17, Newton, was northbound on K-15 near 70th in a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire at 9:15 p.m. June 11, when she encountered a large, yellow dog on the roadway. The dog was struck by the vehicle. The driver was not injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages, reported Undersheriff Brazil.

Anthony Kinnersley, 26, 405 S. Grant, Marion, was westbound on 190th near Old Mill in a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer at 5:55 a.m. June 21, when two deer came from a north ditch. The driver applied his brakes before he struck both deer. The vehicle was registered to Crystal Velasquez, of the same address. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Duane McCarty reported there were no injuries and less than $1,000 in damages.

Tracy Morgan, 26, Canton, was southbound on K-15 near 180th in a 1996 Ford Explorer at 6:18 p.m. June 25, when a deer came from an east ditch and struck the vehicle's left front fender. Austin Morgan, 9, of the same address, was a passenger. There were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages, reported Marion County Sheriff Deputy Larry Starkey.

Tamera D. Sanders, 34, 106 N. Wilson, Hillsboro, was eastbound on 120th near Chisholm Trail in a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am at 9:15 p.m. June 27, when a deer entered the roadway from a north ditch and was struck. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Josh Whitwell reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Joey D. Foudray, 43, Newton, was westbound on 120th near Alamo in a 2001 Dodge 1500 pickup at 9:56 p.m. June 27, when a deer entered the roadway from a south ditch and was struck. Dustin Foudray, 12, and Morgan Foudray, 17, both of the same address as the driver, were passengers. There were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages, reported Deputy Whitwell.
