Accidents reported

The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Jesse P. Smith, 27, 2877 270th, Lincolnville, was southbound on Remington Road near 230th in a 2001 Dodge Ram pickup at 6:55 a.m. Sept. 19, when a deer came out of an east ditch and was struck. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Jim Philpott reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Natasha Evon Hoffner, 17, 703 Abilene Street, Durham, was stopped in a traffic lane on Grand Avenue near Jefferson Street in a 2002 Saturn passenger car at 8 a.m. Sept. 20, when a 2003 Ford utility pickup, driven by Elaine Joyce Cargill, 71, Temccula, Calif., backed from a parking stall and struck the front end of the Saturn. The Saturn was registered to Ginger B. Hoffner of the same address. Hillsboro Assistant Police Chief Jessey Hiebert reported there were no injuries and less than $1,000 in damages.

Marvin E. Peterson, 48, 601 N. Newton Street, Lincolnville, was southbound on Limestone Road near 220th in a 2001 Ford F-150 pickup at 8:20 p.m. Sept. 23, when a deer came from a west ditch and was struck. The driver was not injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages, reported Marion County Sheriff Deputy Duane McCarty.

Judy L. Morse, 61, 863 120th Road, Hillsboro, was northbound on Falcon Road near 90th in a 1986 Chevrolet S-10 pickup at 11:41 p.m. Sept. 25, when she approached a black calf in the middle of the roadway which she was unable to avoid hitting. Camden L. Morse, no age given, of the same address, was a passenger. Deputy Philpott reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Tara Randall, 20, 609 Topeka Street, Lincolnville, was westbound on 290th Road near Limestone in a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am at 6:15 a.m. Sept. 26, when a deer came out of a north ditch and was struck. There were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages, reported Marion County Undersheriff Randal Brazil.

Luke K. Thielen, 19, Quinter, was driving a 1990 Chevrolet Cavalier on D Street near Jefferson Street, Hillsboro, at 2:35 p.m. Sept. 27, when he struck a 1998 Toyota Corolla driven by Kelly A. White, 21, Westminster Colo., that was stopped and waiting to turn south. The Toyota was registered to Sheila K. White of the same address. Jessica N. Burden, 19, Little Elm, Texas, was a passenger in the Toyota. There were no injuries and less than $1,000 in damages, reported Hillsboro Police Officer Steven Janzen.

Nichole Michele Carlson, 16, 214 S. Kennedy Street, Hillsboro, was backing from a parking stall at Hillsboro High School at 500 E. Grand Avenue in a 2001 Ford utility vehicle at 4 p.m. Sept. 27, with a door open and struck a parked vehicle. When the driver pulled forward, she struck another vehicle. The Ford was registered to Richard W. Carlson of the same address. The other vehicles were a 1994 Chevrolet van, owned by Fred Jones, 212 N. Prospect, Lehigh, and a 1988 Acura passenger car, owned by Jake Liles, 309 W. Main, Lehigh.
