Accidents reported

The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Christopher L. Solis, 20, of Rio Grande City, Texas, was driving a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse south on Goldenrod near 190th at 8:40 p.m. Sept. 6, when a deer entered the roadway. The driver swerved to miss the deer, entered an east ditch, and rolled the vehicle three times. There were no injuries and more than $1,000 of damage, reported Marion County Sheriff Deputy Jim Philpott.

Logan H. Fowler, 17, 1981 Nighthawk, Marion, was driving a 2001 Dodge Ram pickup southbound on Sunflower at 2:15 p.m. Sept. 12 when he lost control of the vehicle and hit a bridge. The vehicle was registered to Teresa Green of Cheney. Deputy Josh Whitwell reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Shawn E. Black, 33, 810 Main, Florence, was northbound on X Ranch Road at 3 a.m. Sept. 16 in a 1994 Nissan LSX utility vehicle when he fell asleep and went off the roadway. The vehicle hit a bridge and rolled one time. Deputy Philpott reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Falco S. Grehl, 24, Goddard, was attempting to turn around on a railroad right-of-way in a 2002 Ford Explorer at 7:35 p.m. Sept. 17 on Yarrow Road. The driver attempted to stop but instead of hitting the brake pedal she hit the gas pedal and hit the side of a westbound train. The vehicle was registered to Janie Grehl of the same address. There were no injuries, reported Deputy Whitwell.

Katherine M. Flaming, 16, 1561 K-15, Hillsboro, was southbound on Alamo Road in a 1998 Ford Contour passenger car at 8:43 p.m. Sept. 17 when the driver failed to follow the curve at 130th and went into a ditch. The vehicle was registered to Dwight Flaming of the same address. There were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages, reported Deputy Whitwell.

Ashley D. Luncey, 23, Wichita, was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier passenger car southbound on K-15 at 7:53 p.m. Sept. 23, when a deer ran from a west ditch and was struck by the vehicle. Esposito Taylor, 24, Schiller Park, Ill., was a passenger. Deputy Larry Starkey reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Jennifer M. Bratt, 18, Valley Center, was northbound on U.S.-77 at 7:57 p.m. Sept. 23 in a 2002 Saturn passenger car when a deer came from a west ditch and was struck by the vehicle. Amanda Echermann, 18, El Dorado, was a passenger. The vehicle was registered to James and Brenda Bratt, Wichita. There were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages, reported Undersheriff Randal Brazil.

Paul Joseph L. Jamolod, 18, Salina, was driving a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse passenger car northbound on 330th Road at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 24, when a southbound car was passing another car. The driver took to the right shoulder to avoid the oncoming vehicle, went out of control, and entered a west ditch. Kelsey L. Hatfield, 16, P.O. Box 133, Lincolnville, was a passenger. The vehicle was registered to Asterio Q. Jamolod of the same address. Deputy Duane McCarty reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Laura K. Hoffman, 17, 401 N. Ohio, Burns, was westbound on 60th Road in a 1981 Pontiac Bonneville passenger car at 7:10 p.m. Sept. 24, when the driver did not see a parked vehicle in the westbound lane because of glare from the sun. The driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a concrete bridge. Angel Negaard, 16, 802 Maple, Peabody, was a passenger. The owner of the Bonneville was James and Susan Hoffmann of the same address. The parked vehicle was unoccupied at the time and was owned by Rusty Entz, 271 Old Mill, Peabody. Both the driver and passenger of the Bonneville were injured but were not transported by ambulance to a hospital, reported Undersheriff Brazil.

It was reported to Deputy Whitwell at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 25 that a 2002 Ford F-350 pickup was parked in a lot at 205 Lincolnville Street, Lincolnville, and was struck on the driver's side by an unknown vehicle. The pickup was registered to Deines Farms, 2029 350th, Ramona, reported Deputy Whitwell.

Jenesa E. Klose, 16, 1938 Falcon, Hillsboro, was driving a 1995 Saturn passenger car at 8 a.m. Sept. 28 eastbound on 190th near Goldenrod when she lost control of the vehicle because of sun glare. The vehicle entered a south ditch and overturned. Jessica Klose, 16, of the same address, was a passenger in the vehicle. Both were transported by private vehicle to Hillsboro Community Medical Center with possible injuries, reported Undersheriff Brazil.

Louise A. Rahe, 70, 101 S. Wilson, Hillsboro, was driving a 1998 Ford pickup at 10:55 a.m. Sept. 28, when the pickup struck an apartment building at 701 S. Main, Hillsboro. Hillsboro Assistant Police Chief Jessey Hiebert reported there were no injuries.

Martha Ann Phillips, 82, Route 1, Florence, was eastbound on K-256 just east of Upland Road at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 2 in a 1993 Ford F-15 pickup when she struck a bicyclist. The driver did not see the bicyclist because of the position of the sun. James Edward Graham, 59, Lufkin, Texas, was taken by ambulance to St. Luke Hospital with minor injuries, reported Undersheriff Brazil.
